I follow the development of Agloco ever since I read John Chow’s blog. My first feeling about Agloco’s business model is that it is not going to survive. Agloco’s business model is like this. You download a view bar from its web site. The view bar will be located at the bottom of your browser
agloco view bar
and the view bar will collect information about your web search statistics and send it back to Agloco’s server.

In return you will get pay for it. So the view bar works like a spyware but you can unstall it easily and you can turn off the view bar so that it doesn’t track your web search behavior. In order to increase the download base Algoco also has the pyramid type of member structure. A member will get pay by a percentage of the earning of the memebers he/she recruit.

I did join Algoco and I did introduced it to a few friends but I never download the view bar. I am just not willing to download somthing like this and the company doesn’t have the creditbility like Google or Yahoo. I guess many people view it the same way as I do. I kind of think they will be better off if the veiw bar is indeed a spyware. Of course that is evil business and it will never grow big.
