I wanted to post all the pictures

I took in my trip to Zhu Hai, China for a long while but something unexpected happen to me one week after I came back from Zhu Hai. I was layoff from the company I worked for. So I am in the market for a job and driving all around to meet with recruiters and companies. It was quite time consuming to organize the photos and I wasn’t in a good mood to do that. But this weekend I want to finish some of it so here it goes.

The following pictures are my best friends reunion. We were having authentic Chinese Dim Sum on the lunar boat. The guys in the following pictures are my best friends. We grew up together. We have know each other since we were 7 or 8 years old and went to the same elementary school and high school. We all have family and kid now. I have other best friends from college time when I went to University in Guang Zhou. Unfortunately there was no time for me to go visit them in this trip.

Macau is a small city bordering to Zhu Hai. Macau used to be a Portuguese colony. It was returned to China on 1999 and became one of the special district just like Hong Kong. The major economy in Macau is gambling just like Las Vegas. After Macau was returned to China the Chinese government open up the gambling industry to foreign competition. The industry used to be monopolized by the Stanley Ho family. After the opening up Macau was fledged with foreign casino operators. Las Vegas Sand and Wynn are among them. Macau’s economy has remained at a growth rate more than 30% for a number of years after the opening up and created an economic miracle.

This is the custom between Macau and Zhu Hai. Underground of the square in front of the custom is a big shopping mall.

This is the advertisement billboard you will see if you come out from the custom to Zhu Hai. The billboard on the left side says “people of Zhu Hai welcome you”. The red billboard on the right says, “Wynn has make Macau never been the same”.

I didn’t have the time to visit Macau either. Two weeks is a very short trip. But I took some picture of Macau from far distance on an island called Heng Qin. It is an island next to Marcau separated by narrow water. This is the google map of Hengqin island. Heng Qin is in the middle of the map surrounded by water. Macau is on the right. You can see how small Macau is. Because Macau is so small and lack of land for expansion, there was talk between Macau goverment and Zhu Hai government (Heng Qin is under the district of Zhu Hai) on the possibility of handing over Heng Qi to Marcau. All of a sudden Heng Qi became land of opportunity and everyone wanted a piece of it. The project was escalated to the central government in Peijing and all land transaction on the island were suspended and the central government took control of the talk with Macau. At this time the talk is still under going but slowly.

In the middle of he picture is Venetian. It is the biggest hotel casino in the world now. There is one on the left two on the right being built. The one on the left looks like Bellagio. I promise I will bring you to Macau next time when I return to visit Zhu Hai.

Heng Qi is an island famous for producing fresh oyster. The following is one of the oyster field on the island

Many people drive here from the city just to try out fresh oyster. The cottages on the road side are small restaurants specializing on oyster cooking.
